Picard you're f-ing awesome

Beta Picard

So Netflix recently put up Star Trek: TNG up on streaming. I have been going through the from the beginning of the series and watching what I consider my favorites or major episodes. The other night was Time Squared, which is a season 2 episode and one were Pulaski doesn’t annoy the shit out of me. On a side note I really found Pulaski more annoying than Wesley ever was. But yes the writers/producers did screw Will Wheaton on a whole.

But back to the Time Squared. This episode feature the famous line by Worf, sampled by Orbital, “There is the theory of the mobius, a twist in the fabric of space where time becomes a loop”.

Holiday Recovery

So Christmas came and went in it's normal fashion (No surprise there). But in this day and age where your dollar stretch less and less it's easy to go over Budget. For a long time now I have avoided buying gift for everyone. It doesn't mean I don't love or appreciate some friends. I'm just not Miss Moneybags.

To survive all I do is only buy gift for those I feel inspired to buy gifts for. Could be that I saw something while out or I had an epiphany while in the shower. Yes all great inspirations come while taking a shower. I don't ever expect a gift from someone, if they want to get me something that's awesome, but no one should feel obligated. That's what birthdays are for.

I can't forget this, let me take out my camera

You know I really wanted to take more pictures of this past weekend. Even with my phone it didn't really matter. However I got caught up in the moment forgetting to take it out. Granted I don't have pictures, but it was a fun weekend and I have the memories. Granted pictures don't fade these days, they just get lost. But when you allow yourself to get caught up in the moment there is something about the memory that is formed, at least for me. Unless it feels natural to take the picture sometimes it doesn't feel right taking the camera out. Taking the camera out can sometimes breaks the moment. When you're out letting out the stresses of the week that moment can be all you have.

I think that's why I take less pictures than I used to. I have for awhile been wanting to loose myself in the moment, enjoying it and my friends that are with me.

I feel I should add that the photographer that takes pictures of the nightlife has a very important job. He's capturing these candid moments of people loosing themselves to the music, having fun, and living life.

Attached is the one picture from this weekend. It's from Friday's most excellent party at Cielo where local Dj's Sleepy and Boo played.

Jim Henson is my hero

Some of you might already know I love puppets. Silly, goofy, and fun. And even better when you have them do "adult things". There is this guy that sells sock puppet portraits, I have seen him in Union Sq. Usually when I am there it's sans cash so I miss out. Much to my delight I get an email this morning that he will be at the Union Sq. Holiday Market.

I am really quite excited this year he will be also selling the puppets themselves. My xmas list starts now.

Attached are some samples. Aren't they cute?

Where for art thou Muse?

It's hard to get back in to the habit of writing, I used to write every day. Sometimes it was something short, sometimes it was fiction. But everyday I churned the old head muscle and put a few words and thoughts to paper. Well since I started the redesign I am finding it hard. I think of ideas, things to say all the time. However now it's harder to form it in to the right words.

It is NaNoWriMo or National Novel Writing Month. I don't intend to write a novel but writing even a simple thought will be my goal every day this month. Yea so I am already a few days behind, shoot me.

Of course writing an online blog is one thing, but I still enjoy writing on paper. It has always flowed out better that way. Maybe it's because I can doodle a bit between sentences.

Or maybe my Muse is on Fall Break?
